Curly Sycamore Plate

I picked up this piece of curly sycamore from a chap locally who makes Mendlesham Chairs. I originally bought the timber for a different project but had a fair bit left over. I think it is one of the most attractive pieces of wood - in terms of figure - that I have ever worked.

Sycamore is a lovely wood to turn, which made the process of creating this plate very simple.

For a long time this sat on our coffee table, but in the end I gave it as a gift to a close friend.
